Surviving in the outdoors will not be possible without a weapon. Arming oneself with defense tools is critical whenever you step out into the unknown. You would never know what you may come across with. You may also be faced with various situations where no one else but yourself can help. Every outdoor enthusiast would never leave their home without a knife in their pockets.

The late Colonel Rex Applegate designed a knife specifically to provide a weapon which may be used in the outdoors. The Applegate Fairbairn knife is a combat blade designed by the country’s well-known individuals when it comes to close-quarters combat. This blade is designed with expertise and function. Due to its durability and stability, it makes for one useful and dependable knife for whatever purpose you may make use of it. Everybody would want to invest in this type of blade if their life depended on it.

Best Blade for Knives

There are a lot of knives available in the market these days. They vary in brands, types, blades and a lot more. I am sure that the first people here on earth will be amazed on the evolution of the simple stones they used as knives before. The technologies of manufacturing knives have already greatly improved through the years.

But for me, I have a personal favorite when it comes to knives. I love Tanto knives from the rest because its blade is better than the rest. It’s stronger and the cut is really very unique. It is Japanese inspired and we all know that Japanese people are known for their swords. I am really loving it that I am planning to buy a few more in the next coming years.

Spending time outdoors can be extremely fun and exciting, especially when it is your first time to plan out a trip. People usually plan these outdoor trips with their friends, and spend a few days out in the wild. This is not only the perfect time to bond, but it is also a great way to discover the surroundings and to commune with nature. There is nothing as relaxing as taking a break away from the city, where life is simple and you have the time to distress and unwind.

Whenever you go out for these trips though, you would need to ensure that you have all the essentials you need. Survival is a must in the wilderness, since you do not have the comforts of your home with you. A great way to ensure your safety is to have pocket knives which you can easily store in your back pocket. This is perfect for those times when you may get stuck with vines, or would need to do some pitching and setting up. A compact weapon is a must in the outdoors.

My Boy Scout

My son is set to leave for a few days for a jamboree. As a coordinator in one of the public schools, this will allow them to teach a few survival skills and be able to develop camaraderie to the participants. These are the skills that may be applied in real life. He started planning the talks and the discussions to be conducted during this event. And my son was obviously ecstatic about the whole trip.

For survival skills, he will be teaching kids on the importance of weapons like Swiss Army knives to any scout and in every outdoor activity. As an outdoor enthusiast my son keeps a number of knives in his collection that he always brings with him. His job is able to impart a lot of teachings and values to the kids today which is why I am so proud of him. With a simple thing like this, he is able to teach students how they can survive and be on their own regardless of any circumstance.
